Snoring and sleep apnea is a relatively common problem wherein a sleeping person pauses his breath or breathes shallowly.
These pauses or periods of shallow breathing can last for several seconds or even a few minutes and sometimes repeat up to 30 times and hour. Return to normal breathing is punctuated by a loud snort.
