Porcelain veneers are thin custom-made moldings of porcelain that cover the front of teeth. Typically the upper front teeth. They are used to correct a variety of imperfections, such as gaps in teeth, or spaced teeth, worn or broken teeth, short teeth, and crowded teeth. Porcelain veneers are often a good choice to address the variety of imperfections listed above, but sometimes they are not necessarily the only choice. Often, we may recommend orthodontics or braces as a better option for some patients. We always take the time to explain what we feel would be the best option for you as if we were the patient ourselves. Cosmetic dentistry has never been easier.
Porcelain veneers can provide a more conservative alternative to traditional crowns, if crowns are not needed. How to know if you would need crowns or veneers? The only way to know is with a full, complete examination. If you have previous fillings or decay between your teeth, then crowns may be required.
Porcelain veneers can eliminate unattractive gaps between teeth, mask stains, correct misshapen or crooked teeth in just a few visits. Unlike dental bonding, porcelain veneers will not change color or shape over time if cared for properly.
